SARGODHA: Anti-Terrorism Court (ATC) adjourned the hearing of the case against Member of National Assembly Jamshed Dasti till July 20.

At the start of the hearing today (Thursday) Dasti’s counsel, Asif Bilal, filed an application seeking exemption from personal appearance for his client who has gone to Islamabad for the medical checkup of his sister, who is a cancer patient.

The court granted the said exemption and adjourned the hearing till July 20, directing Dasti’s counsel to ensure the presence of his client on the next hearing.

It may be mentioned here that on July 3 Anti-Terrorism Court in Sargodha had granted bail and ordered Dasti’s release.

Dasti was arrested by the Punjab police from Layyah on June 9 for forcibly opening a canal gate in Muzaffargarh on May 28, following which the irrigation department lodged a case against him.
