KARACHI: The Muttahida Qaumi Movement – Pakistan (MQM-P) Chairperson Farooq Sattar has challenged the result of Sindh Assembly seat PS-114 in the Election Commission of Pakistan stating that there was alleged rigging in the constituency.

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) candidate Saeed Ghani won the by-election by receiving approximately 24,000 votes while MQM-P’s Kamran Tessori received over 18,000 votes.

MQM chief petitioned to the ECP that the election results must not be announced until thumbprints are verified and a recount of votes is undertaken. The petition alleges that the election result of the constituency was changed at the last minute.
