Khawaja Harris-led team of lawyers to draft Sharif family’s reply to JIT report

ISLAMABAD: Four leading legal experts of the country are going to assist the Sharif family to help draft its reply on the Panama Leaks Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report to the Supreme Court, sources revealed on Wednesday.

The team of lawyers led by Khawaja Harris will also include Amjad Pervez, considered an expert on cases related to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB).

Sources said the JIT report includes a list of 28 cases against the Sharif family that are in NAB.

Moreover, two cases are in the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) and as many with the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), according to the JIT report.

The Supreme Court’s special implementation bench has set July 17 as the next date of hearing in the Panama Papers case.

Earlier, sources informed that Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif left for the federal capital where he is expected to hold a one-on-one meeting with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Sources revealed that during the meeting, matters related to the JIT report will be discussed.
