  • JUI-F chief says Panama Papers unite PPP, PTI against govt

Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-F chief Fazlur Rehman has said that certain political parties have become united under an international conspiracies to make fail the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), saying Panama Papers report has been orchestrated to sabotage the multi-billion mega project under the same conspiracies.

Addressing his party workers and followers here on Wednesday, he said that Panama Papers case was neither for elimination of corruption nor against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and his family rather it was a well-engineered conspiracy to sabotage a life line project for Pakistan.

And to foil CPEC, certain political parties have been united which was unfortunate and disgusting, he said. Fazl said that court matters were well understood and interpreted by the courts itself. “We will not let allow any conspiracy to destabilise the country and will frustrate all such designs and engineered conspiracies of the super powers with full might,” he said.

“We will go to every extent against the planned Panama Papers conspiracy and will create awareness among the masses against its ill impact on the stability and integrity of the country,” he told the gathering. He said that the Panama Papers had united the PTI and PPP against the government despite huge political differences over almost all the issues.

He said that JUIF was a democratic religious party with strong roots in masses and pursuing its ideology through systematic programme. He said that the country would not be allowed to be taken towards political instability by international conspiracies. Fazl suggested that political parties would have to change its thinking for foiling conspiracies and work united for progress and integrity of the country.

The JUI-F leader recalled that the Supreme Court had in earlier turned down the application pertaining to the Panama Papers at the maintainable stage which is now being played up out of proportions by certain political forces.
