Punjab gov saved Rs 220 bln in different projects: Shehbaz Sharif

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government has evolved a historic development programme during the current financial year which is a harbinger of progress and prosperity of the people of the province.

He said that the volume of Annual Development Programme is Rs 635 billion and is the biggest development programme in the history of the province. He said that Punjab government has allocated resources of billion of rupees for the progress and prosperity of the people of the province; record funds have been earmarked for education, health, agriculture, potable water and social sectors.

He said that implementation of annual development programme will result in progress and prosperity of the province and the living standard of the people will be raised through completion of projects under annual development programme. The CM added that huge funds have been made available for the prosperity of farmers and promotion of agriculture. Development and prosperity of South Punjab and improvement in living style of the masses has always been our priority, he added. He said that additional funds of billions of rupees have been allocated for the progress of South Punjab and prosperity of its people during current year and more share has been fixed for the region in welfare and development programmes.

He said that unprecedented programmes and projects will be completed for the progress and prosperity of the people under the annual development programme of the current year. He said that Punjab government has set a new tradition by saving Rs. 220 billion in different projects.

He said that the PML-N government has taken unprecedented steps for the welfare, prosperity and economic development of the masses. He also acknowledged the leadership of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and the success of PML-N in steering the country out of quagmire of problems and putting it on the road to development.
