Civil service reforms need of the hour: Sindh CS

KARACHI: Sindh Chief Secretary Rizwan Memon has said that civil service reforms are the need of the hour and their improvement will bring positive changes for good governance.

Addressing a workshop in Karachi organised by Ministry of Planning, Development and Reforms (PDR) and Services General Administration & Coordination Department, he said that the provincial government is endeavoring to promote the service structure in collaboration with the ministry of PDR for betterment of the service delivery system in the larger national interest.

Federal Secretary PDR Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui elucidated that service reforms are essential for promotion and development of the system, thus federal and provincial governments are jointly streamlining this task.

He expressed immense pleasure over the warm participation of civil servants, parliamentarians, journalists and other respected people belonging to various important classes. He was of the view that results could be achieved through service reforms.

Ms Mehtab Akbar Rashid, MPA Dr Mazhar ul Haq Siddiqui, Dr Falah Muhammad Burfat, and Sindh Police DIG Aftab Pathan also spoke.

The recommendations made in the group discussions were also finalised in the workshop.
