SC to examine PML-N leaders’ speeches against JIT

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court had summoned the records Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders speeches, including Khawaja Saad Rafique, Khawaja Asif, Talal Chaudhry and Asif Kirmani for harsh reactions against the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) and the judiciary.

Earlier today, the JIT filed its fourth and final report to the apex court.

During the hearing of the case, the SC issued show cause notices to Jang group, its owner Mir Shakil-ur-Rahman and reporter Ahmad Noorani over the story regarding the final report and ordered to file a case against SECP Chairman Zafar Hijazi for tampering the record of Sharif family’s business.

Meantime, the court summoned the record of speeches by the PML-N leaders against the JIT and the court within a week.

Sitting in the courtroom, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Fawad Chaudhry directed the court’s attention towards Rana Sanaullah and Abid Sher Ali.

Responding to his comment, Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed said the transcript of his speeches may also be brought. The remark caused laughter in the courtroom.
