Pakistan Peoples Party won PS-114 Karachi and Gilgit -Baltistan Legislative Assembly-4 by-elections.
Meanwhile, Javed Hussain of PPP secured 6838 votes while Muhammad Baqir of Islam-i-Tehreke Pakistan received 5988 votes in GBLA-4 Hunza Nagar-1 by-polls.
The polling for by-election in the Provincial Assembly constituency PS-114 took place on Sunday in Karachi. The voting started at 8 am and continued until 5 pm.
As per details, strict security measures were in place with section 144 has been imposed in the constituency. Moreover, besides police, around 2,000 Rangers personnel have been deployed in and around the polling stations.
The celebration before the opponent’s camp and display of weapons was also been banned under the section 144.
There was a total of 193,000 registered voters in the constituency, according to the Election Commission of Pakistan.
At around 9:30 am, workers of two groups clashed at a public school in Chanesar Goth when a Pakistan Peoples Party candidate Saeed Ghani was refused entry into a polling station despite ‘having an EPC letter’.
After the incident took place, voting was briefly suspended at polling stations 79, 85, 86, 87 and 90, established inside Owais Qarni public school.
Clashes between PPP and Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan workers were also reported from Defence View locality.
Rangers reached the scene of the incidents to control the situation, following which voting resumed.
