Panama Case: JIT’s final report due in SC today

The Joint Investigation Team will submit its final report in Panama Paper case to the Special Bench of Supreme Court today.

The JIT constituted on May 5 by the Supreme Court’s was responsible for probing the money trail of the Sharif family-owned properties overseas.

The JIT members, the other day remained busy preparing the report, sources are reported to have said.

A red alert has been issued for the federal capital’s Red Zone, where the Supreme Court is located, and strict security measures are in place. Moreover, police and Rangers will be deployed both inside and outside the Supreme Court premises, officials said.

Prominent PML-N leaders addressed the media at separate events across the country the other day.

Railways Minister Khawaja Saad Rafiq said PML-N, being the biggest political party of the country feels that efforts are on to snatch its mandate.

Defence Minister Khawaja Asif addressed a gathering in Sialkot, where he demanded that the JIT proceedings should be made public so the entire nation should know what the JIT asked from the premier.

Speaking to media on Sunday, the PTI chief expressed apprehensions that he sees a situation leading to an attack on the apex court developing, similar to the PML-N assault on the apex court in 1997.

  1. What do the “Three Idiots” of PML N, Talal, Daniel and Chamcha’s son have to say about the sketch of PANAMA leaks? The sketches of all in the Family are given by ICIJ. Now there should be no doubt about who the culprits are. Godfather is right where he belongs.
