Voting is underway for the by-poll at Gilgit-Baltistan Legislative Assembly-4 in Hunza-Nagar which started at 8 am today and will end at 5 pm.
There are 18,505 registered voters in the constituency, which was vacated in February 2017 after the representative, Islami Tehreek Pakistan’s (ITP) Muhammad Ali Sheikh died due to cardiac arrest.
A total of 40 polling stations have been set up in the constituency, with 20 set up for men, 16 for women and four combined.
A strong competition is expected between ITP’s Mohammad Baqar Haider and Pakistan Peoples Party’s Javed Hussain.
The number of registered male voters is 10,018 and female voters 8,870 in the constituency.
