LAHORE: Asian Snooker Champion Mohammad Sajjad complained to the government over neglecting the sport and said no official came to receive him at the airport when he came back after winning the championship.

Mohammad Sajjad said that he has not even been congratulated over his victory by the government, and asked the question that is cricket the only sport in Pakistan?

Sajjad expressed his views while talking to the media persons at the Lahore Press Club, and said snooker has given many victories and medals to Pakistan, but the government is neglecting this sport.

Let it be known that Mohammad Sajjad recently won the Asian 6-red Snooker Championship in Kyrgyzstan by thrashing Hong Kong’s cueist.

It is also worth mentioning here that a heroic welcome was given to Pakistan cricket players upon their return from England after winning the maiden ICC Champions Trophy for the country, and millions of rupees were awarded to them by the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and the government as prize money.

On the other hand, sports like snooker and champion players like Mohammad Sajjad are completely neglected by the government, who are not even congratulated for their achievements.
