  • Spokesperson says PTI chairman in hilly areas due to good weather

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Chairman Imran Khan has been spending a lot of his days and nights in hilly areas for the past six weeks, as he was advised by Bushra Manika, his spiritual mentor, that it would greatly help him to bag a ‘favourable’ judgment from the Supreme Court.

Sources close to the Manika family said that the PTI chairman had a spiritual relationship with Khawar Fareed Manika and his wife Bushra Manika. Further, Imran had only visited Pakpattan thrice to meet the two and they had visited the shrine of Baba Fareeduddin Ganj Shakkar, the great Sufi saint.

Although Imran had been visiting his residence in Bani Gala residence in Islamabad but he stays in his residence for some hours and then goes back to the mountainous areas. “He [Imran] was advised to be on hilly areas which would ultimately result in his favour following JIT, Panama case and in political scenario too,” the source said.

From last days of May till now, Imran has mostly resided in Nathia Gali, Chitral, and other northern areas where he was accompanied by his aides Jahangir Khan Tareen, Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Sheikh Rasheed Ahmad and some others. Also Imran and Tareen shared pictures on social media in which they are seen jogging in different hilly areas and meeting with party members.

According to sources, Imran will stay on mountainous areas till the JIT submits its final report before the special bench of the Supreme Court in the Panama case. Moreover, sources revealed that Imran’s spiritual link with the Manika’s strengthened even more after Bushra Manika predicted that he would win a National Assembly seat from district Lodhran.

When contacted, PTI spokesperson Fawad Chaudhary said that Imran Khan spending his days in hilly areas just because of good weather and it was not in his knowledge that he [Imran] had been advised to stay on the mountainous areas or so. “Islamabad’s weather is also good during the last few weeks,” he said, adding that he doesn’t know the reason behind it.

He said that Imran Khan had visited Islamabad’s residence various times. It is noted that the JIT, formed on May 6 in light of the Supreme Court’s April 20 judgment in the Panama case, was given 60 days to complete its probe regarding the foreign assets owned by Sharif family. Since the deadline was falling on a Friday, and with the JIT taking a day off on Eid, July 10 has been decided, as the deadline to submit its final report.
