Haveli Bahadar Shah power plant: 760 MW added to national grid

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif presided over a high-level meeting on Sunday which was attended by General Electric Company Chief Technology Officer Andrew John Lammas and members of his team.

They congratulated Shehbaz Sharif and the federal government on the generation of power from Bhikki and Haveli Bahadur Shah Gas Power plants in a record period. Andrew Jhon Lammas said that the credit for efficient power projects goes to the present government. He said the Punjab government has provided incredible cooperation for completion of these power plants before stipulated period.

Addressing the meeting, Shehbaz Sharif said that the present government has worked day and night for completion of energy projects and which are proving helpful to curb load-shedding. He said that the federal and Punjab government have worked as a team on these projects; after Bhikki, the first unit of Haveli Bahadur Shah Gas Power Plant has now started generating760 MW power.

Shehbaz Sharif also applauded General Electric and Chinese companies’ authorities and said that they also have worked hard for the said projects.

Planning and Development chairman, National Power Parks Management Company chief executive officer, Energy secretary and chief executive officer of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power Limited were also present on the occasion.

NATION WILL ALWAYS REMEMBER ROLE OF PML (N) TO ELIMINATE ENERGY CRISIS: Shehbaz Sharif, while talking to a delegation of PML (N), which called on him, on Sunday, said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, the journey from darkness to light is about to be accomplished and time of eradication of country’s two-decade-long darkness is near.

He claimed that the nation will always remember this grand achievement of the PML-N for transparent and speedy completion of power projects.

He said on one side there were former rulers who plundered the country’s resources, while on the other hand, there are people indulging in negative politics, increasing difficulties of a common man. The nation will never forgive those who pushed the country towards doom and gloom by obstructing progress.

The vilest game of plundering national assets and destabilising the economy of Pakistan in the name of sit-ins was played, he said, adding those who played brutal game with the fate of Pakistan can’t be the well-wisher of public rather they have proved themselves anti-public elements by increasing the problems of the people.

By eliminating energy crisis, the closed doors of employment of jobs will also be opened. He said that 3600 MW gas power plants which are result of the PML-N’s visionary leadership are the intuition of long-term planning, splendid vision and political insightfulness of the party.

He said that 168 billion rupees of the poor nation have been saved in these three projects and there is no example of such savings and transparency in projects in country’s history. He said that these projects are hallmark of transparency, high quality and speedy completion also they will eliminate load shedding from Pakistan forever.
