LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has filed Rs 10 billion defamation case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan.

The lawsuit was filed through Advocate Mustafa Ramday. The lawsuit filed under sections 4 and 9 of the Defamation Ordinance, 2002, stated that Imran Khan falsely accused Shahbaz Sharif of making him a financial offer for his silence over the Panama papers case.

Moreover, the petition stated that Imran Khan made the “utterly false statement” on different television shows as well as at a public gathering.

In a twitter message, the CM Punjab stated:

“Either Imran tender apology or withdraw the allegations”, the advocate is reported to have stated.

The court has issued notices to Imran Khan seeking reply from him by July 21.

A similar suit of Rs.26 bn was filed by Shahbaz Sharif against Imran Khan in Oct 2016 for levelling “baseless allegations of corruption.”

  1. Obviously Mr Dramabaz is unaware of his reputation despite Modal Town killings and fake Encounters and his first commission from First Motorway project.

  2. Mirza Munir Beg eliminating enemies of the country from within is more important than your democracy. Your Prime Minister is the prime suspect so are two newspapers of English language. Your doubts will be clearer if you saw Nawaz Sharif in pink pagri on his grand daughters marriage when an enemy delegation arrived from Afghanistan led by Modi without any formal documents mandatory for such visits.

  3. Shahbaz sharif should go to prison for corruption, the whole sharif family are corrupt.
