LDA, OPC review resolution process of expatriates’ problems

LAHORE: A meeting to review the resolution mechanism of the complaints of expatriate  Pakistanis related to the Lahore Development Authority (LDA) was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Overseas Pakistanis Commission (OPC) Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti.

The LDA director general, OPC Director General Zahid Akhtar Zaman, Javed Iqbal Bukhari and other relevant officers attended the meeting.

Commissioner Afzaal Bhatti said on this occasion that the OPC and LDA are working jointly to solve the issues faced by overseas Pakistanis, and in this regard authorities of both institutions are monitoring the resolution process of the complaints on a monthly basis.

OPC commissioner said that overseas Pakistanis come to the country for a short period so the solution of their problems in the shortest possible time is imperative.

DG Zahid Akhtar Zaman informed the participants that the LDA is providing maximum support to expatriate Pakistanis in the resolution of their problems, and designated officers and officials have been deputed to settle these issues.

Certain complaints of overseas Pakistanis came under discussion during the meeting and necessary directions were issued by the authorities in this regard. A number of proposals to fine tune the resolution process of the complaints were also discussed. The OPC delegation also visited various sections of the LDA, and DG Zahid Akhtar Zaman gave a detailed briefing about the working of these sections.
