After successfully inaugurating the entire array of the ANP-directed projects in KP, PTI chairman Imran Khan has moved into the Punjab by inaugurating the Lahore-Islamabad Motorway on Saturday.
“This is a momentous occasion,” he said at ceremony. “I feel this motorway would help spur up development activity in the country and would be used not just by those commuting between the two cities but will also be used to bolster the farm-to-road access in certain parts of the belt.”
On the occasion, the PTI leader also inspected a confused-looking contingent of the National Highways and Motorway Police. “I have no idea what this is about,” said IG NH&MP, while shaking hands with the leader on the occasion.
Next week, Khan is expected to lay the foundation stone of Government College, Lahore.
Analysts predict that the PTI, working its way back from ANP to PML(N), will complete the Raj era by next year and by 2018, it will build Sher Shah Suri’s GT Road.
“We have learnt the lesson,” said Asad Umer, the party’s economic apparatchik. “The people like development projects. Something to show. And that we are good at.”
