RAWALPINDI: A ban has been imposed on the installation of new petrol pumps in district Rawalpindi.
According to media reports, the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) had sent a letter to Rawalpindi Deputy Commissioner Talat Mehmood Gondal on December 2, 2015, and a notification is also available in this regard.
It was laid down in the aforementioned OGRA notification that all oil marketing companies were directed to keep an appropriate quantity of oil in their stores in order to cope with any emergency like situation and it doesn’t mean that companies increase their outlets.
As outlets depend on company’s storage capacity; therefore, the companies would not be allowed to open more petrol pumps on basis of their current storage capacity.
