That they seek vengeance and divine attributes for their heroics in butchering hundreds of innocents in the name of God is baffling. Spewing hatred, pilfering minds with a convoluted thought process that brandishes killing innocents as legitimate sounds preposterous; only insane people would support this outlandish thought framework, right?
The killing and lynching of innocents continues unabated. As the bloodshed increases and scores get killed for reasons undisclosed, the pain refuses to subside. The misery and pain for the ailing families keeps on piling up. Some lose their dear brothers or sisters, others their precious parents, and in some cases an entire family. The endless bloodletting knows no bounds. The cycle of violence seems infinite. It seems we are mired in a vicious cycle of death that refuses to leave without unleashing a flurry of tragedy.
That is where the problem stems from actually. Even the sanest of minds can spew hate and claim righteousness in their actions. They tend to believe that they are executing God’s will in the way it was manifested to be. Those challenging their self-acclaimed prophecies are either heretics or apostates. Anyone with a thinking cap on their head is a ‘proclaimed’ enemy of God. In hindsight, it is a crime worth punishing. You either end up proclaiming them as a genuine danger to society or tag them as “disrupters of peace”.
In all their self-righteous deeds, they believe that they are doing a service to God. They sing praises and write eulogies in honour of those who butchered so many people. Their prized scalp is seventh heaven, atonement for their antics which killed so many sinners. Actions speak louder than words they say, indeed they act in that very manner. The orchestrator blows himself to heaven, the victims are ‘certified’ sinners’ who end up in their rightful place… i.e., ‘oblivion’.
The puritanism in faith glorifies these acts of ‘justice’. God’s will is being enacted in such an efficient and orderly manner which is greatly satisfying. These actions aren’t seen as despicable but an achievement unlocked
Who needs God to judge, when his created remnants i.e., the wretched beings called humans do it with such vested honour. The verdict in this court is predominantly ‘predictable’ sentenced to death by the gallows or get bombed. The latter is an easy affirmable option, many would love volunteering for. It would be their ‘service to God’ and a way of expressing profound love for the Creator. The Creator would be overjoyed by the piety and sobriety of these ‘martyrs’. Their persistence in spreading the Creator’s will by terror should be greatly welcomed. Peace and tolerance together are attributes that will sow the seed of discontent. Any adherence to the above mentioned sins is tantamount to challenging the Creator’s very existence. This is an alarming catastrophe that requires urgent attention, excommunication by the brigand’s of suicide bombers!
The puritanism in faith glorifies these acts of ‘justice’. God’s will is being enacted in such an efficient and orderly manner which is greatly satisfying. These actions aren’t seen as despicable but an achievement unlocked. It serves as a point of no-return for those involved in these heinous acts of carnage. These people lie on the fringes of society, deprived of economic livelihood, education and mandatory healthcare. It is a situation of downright trepidation. For them, it is now or never. Perhaps it is an option to expunge themselves from their miserable lives, hardships they endure on a daily basis. Then we have self-acclaimed executors of justice, who burn sinners in broad daylight in brick kilns with the added support of the security apparatus of the state i.e., the police. Onlookers chant slogans of revenge, appreciating that true justice is unfolding in front of their eyes. The harshness of the brutality they are a witness too is exhilarating and fun laden.
The fun doesn’t end here. Its continuity is palpable, resonating around the country. As we usher in an era of rampant intolerance, rising bigotry and tumult are causes of major worry. The very fabric of society is being brought under the scanner. The policies of the last 40 years keep haunting us, indecisiveness to act on elements fanning hatred has had widespread ramifications. In a nutshell, elements like these are very much existential in society. As much the future is a great unknown and mystery for us, we can only work on preaching tolerance and love for people of all kinds irrespective of what faith, creed they follow. Humanity has to prevail in every given way, which is what will and has always defined us.
