After completing 50 years in the Indian entertainment industry, veteran actor-filmmaker Rakesh Roshan says the biggest learning that he got with time is to “always remain a student”.

Reacting to all the congratulatory messages on hitting the milestone, Rakesh Roshan on Sunday tweeted: “Thank you for your wishes. The best thing I learnt in 50 years is to always remain a student. Good luck too all you students in pursuing your dreams.”

Rakesh Roshan embarked on his cinematic journey in 1967 and made his Bollywood acting debut in 1970 with “Ghar Ghar ki Kahani”. He went on to entertain the audience as an actor with films like “Khatta Meetha”, “Khel Khel Mein” and “Khoobsurat”.

He ventured into filmmaking with “Khudgarz” in 1987.

His son and actor Hrithik Roshan was happy about it. He posted: “Celebrating 50 years of dad’s journey in cinema. But he’s in office working towards 100. Thanks dad, for setting the impossible example for us. We love you papa.”

The father and son have together given hits like “Kaho Naa… Pyaar Hai”, “Koi… Mil Gaya” and “Krrish 3”.

In an interview to media agencies in the past, Hrithik said that his father doesn’t need anyone’s support to take his legacy forward.

“My father has a spirit (that) is undying. He doesn’t need anyone to take his legacy forward… He will live for forever and he is going to be working forever. He is somebody who has built everything on his own, and he will continue doing that,” he said.
