Pakistan to become first country to test 5G, says Anusha Rahman

ISLAMABAD: State Minister for Information Technology and Telecommunication Anusha Rahman said on Saturday that Pakistan would become the first country in the world to test 5G technology.

The minister was addressing a press conference in connection with the award of 4G spectrum license, where she expressed hope that Pakistan would soon acquire the technology.

The 4G spectrum license was sold for $295 million. The ceremony was also attended by Finance Minister Ishaq Dar.

Rehman said the total amount of the auction had been deposited in the government’s account.

The minister added that the government would start preparations for the introduction of 5G in the country by 2021.

She expressed hope that Pakistani people would adopt the new technology ahead of all other Asian countries.

The minister further said the number of broadband users increased from 3.7million to 44 million during last four years.

  1. When you have such a incompetent minister of technology such statement will come out.5G has been tested since last few years around the world. Even your neighbor India has been testing and researching for few years.

  2. One of many dumb things this government wants Pakistanis to believe. They should at least lie in a way that’s believable. 5G is being tested all around the world for a while now and I can reference more than a hundred sources of the minister is not informed.

  3. Well We should try to make Pakistan better country in real sense… Please don’t confort us with such false news.
