RAWALPINDI: Out of order elevator lift installed in OPD of Benazir Bhutto (BB) hospital is adding to the miseries of patients and their attendants.
According to media reports, this lift was closed two years back due to a nominal fault and it has not been repaired so far. This state of affairs is causing difficulties for the patients and their attendants in moving from one department to another, including gyne and other laboratories, for check up as they are located on upper part of the central building of OPD.
It is worth mentioning that millions of rupees are being provided as development funds every year to the hospital but no heed is being paid to get the lift fixed.
The citizens have demanded of hospital management to ensure an early repair of the lift to mitigate the sufferings of patients’, particularly, elderly patients.
