Punjab Primary and Secondary Health Minister Khawaja Imran Nazir presided over a weekly review meeting to evaluate the performance of different wings of the Primary and Secondary Health Department at Bird Wood Road, on Saturday.
The meeting discussed procurement of medicines for next fiscal year, revamping of 85 tehsil headquarters hospitals, handing over of all Basic Health Units of 14 districts to Punjab Health Facilities Management Company from Punjab Rural Supports Program (PRSP).
He directed that foolproof arrangement should be made to provide medical cover to the people during the expected flood season. He also directed to further improve the routine immunisation coverage under EPI Program.
Imran Nazir appreciated the efforts of the hardworking officers of the department for bringing visible improvement in the working of the DHQs and THQ hospitals as well as in RHCs and BHUs.
He said that due to the tireless efforts of the officers and the supporting staff, the performance of health centres has been tremendously improved. However, a lot of efforts are still required to achieve the real targets which demand responsibilities with devotion and professional zeal.
