LHC takes notice of Dasti’s alleged torture, asks for report

Chief Justice of Lahore High Court (LHC) took notice of alleged torture of MNA Jamshed Dasti’s in jail the other day. He has also asked for a report on the matter from the sessions judge Sargodha and the anti-terrorism court.

The judges will be submitting their report after visiting the jail on June 30.

Dasti has claimed that he was being tortured in the jail where he had been imprisoned after forcefully opening a canal gate.He had also requested for protection.

Taking notice of Dasti`s claim, Provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah also constituted a medical board to validate the authenticity of his claims.

The MNA was arrested by Punjab police for forcibly opening a canal gate in Muzaffargarh on May 28, following which the irrigation department registered a case against him.
