ISLAMABAD: Thin attendance was observed in Islamabad’s government and private offices on Thursday, the first working day after Eidul Fitr.
The government announced Eid holidays for its employees from Monday (June 26) to Wednesday (June 28). However, the government and private offices, especially those in the blue area, wore a deserted look as people, mostly non-locals, did not turn up on their duties.
And those who were in attendance left premises early saying they’ve to get ready for dinner at their relatives’ homes.
“Most employees of these offices will be joining offices on Monday hopefully as they would return from their hometowns,” said an employee of the private office, Salman Ahmed.
Another employee Faraz Sheikh said, “As employees had taken an additional holiday for Thursday and Friday to make the most of Eid. I feel that normalcy will return to government offices only on July 3, the first Monday after Eid holidays, when holidaymakers will return from hometowns,” he added.
