Court extends physical remand of Balochistan MPA alleged of hit and run accident

QUETTA: The court has extended the physical remand of Balochistan MPA Abdul Majeed Khan Achakzai, whose vehicle ran over a traffic policeman near the city’s GPO Chowk last week on Thursday (today).

Achakzai was earlier, taken into police custody on remand for five days. His remand ended on Wednesday following which he appeared before the court again today. an alleged agreement letter appeared on social media showing that the family of the deceased policeman had reached an agreement with the MPA after accepting Rs 200,000 and deciding to not to pursue the case against the legislator.

However, the son of the deceased traffic policeman Haji Attaulla denied all such reports of compromise with the MPA.

“Neither have we reached any agreement nor are we willing to compromise,” the son of the slain policeman, Moazzam Attaullah, said.

“Ziarat District Commissioner Muhammad Rafique came for Fatiha Khwaani and to give Eid greetings. He gave us Rs200,000 as Eidi and gave us a blank paper and asked us to sign and write that we have received the amount for Eidi,” added Moazzam.

“They have taken the signature of my grandfather and uncle by deceit,” he claimed and added that the family will not forgive their father’s killer.

“The Supreme Court will avenge our father’s death.”
