KARACHI: Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair offered Eidul Fitr prayers at the Gulshan-i-Jinnah (Old Polo Ground) here on Monday.
Karachi Deputy Mayor Arshad Vohra, Karachi Commissioner Ejaz Ahmed Khan, diplomats from Muslim countries and elite of the city also offered the prayers with the governor.
Later, the governor exchanged Eid greetings with the people.
Talking to media, the Sindh governor was of the view that the incidents of Parachinar, Quetta and killing of four policemen in Karachi were part of the move on the part of the terrorists to destabilise peace.
However, he expressed the determination that such elements would not succeed in their nefarious designs and that terrorism would be rooted out from the country.
The political and military leadership is determined to continue the operation till the elimination of last terrorist.
The governor also sympathised with the families of those who lost their lives in the oil tanker fire and prayed for the recovery of those who were injured in the incident.
Mohammad Zubair also lauded the personnel of law enforcement agencies (LEAs) for maintenance of peace during the holy month of Ramzan.
He expressed the optimism that they would continue their efforts with the same determination and resolve and take the fight against terrorism to its logical conclusion.
