LAHORE: Provincial Minister Human Rights and Affairs of Minorities Khalil Tahit Sandhu has said that 350 Sikh pilgrims wanted to participate in the death anniversary of Maharaja Ranjeet Singh, several of whom were prevented from entering the country after Indian authorities stopped them at Attari Railway Station.

Minister said that thousands of Sikh pilgrims visit Pakistan each year to celebrate the birth or death anniversary of their founder. A special train had been dispatched to bring pilgrims from Attari.

He said that disallowing them to enter Pakistan is clearly a violation of human rights and added that the pilgrims be allowed to participate in the death anniversary as is their right.
