Punjab CM greets Eid-ul-Fitr

LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in his message on the eve of Eid-ul-Fitr said that with the consent of Allah Almighty, we had the opportunity to take advantage and benefit from the blessings of the holy month of Ramzan.

The Chief Minister said that Eid-ul-Fitr is a special gift and reward of Allah Almighty for Muslims and after Ramzan, this day brings with it the message of love and mutual unity.

The chief minister said that today we equally share the grief of the bereaved families of Ahmed Pur Sharqia and feel the sorrow of this unfortunate incident. All our sympathies are with the bereaved families and we pray that may God give them strength to bear these irreparable losses; we also pray for the early recovery of those injured in the accident, he added.

He said Eid demands to share its joys with the poor and oppressed people and it is our religious, moral and national obligation not to forget deprived and underprivileged people in Eid festivities. The Chief Minister said that the eternal sacrifices made by martyrs in the fight against terrorism cannot be forgotten. On the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr, we stand in complete solidarity with the families of martyrs and it is our collective national responsibility to share the joys and happiness of Eid with the families of the martyrs.

The chief minister said that the joy of Eid should also be shared with those whose near and dear ones have made eternal sacrifices for maintaining peace in the country. He said that there is a need to celebrate this day by rising above mutual differences and spreading feelings of love and brotherhood. He further said that special prayers should be offered on this occasion for the survival, solidarity, and prosperity of the country as well as complete elimination of terrorism.
