Camera, dagger recovered from Pakistan’s BAT body, India media claims

Pakistan’s Border Action Team (BAT) entered 600 metres into Jammu and Kashmir’s Indian territory to launch an attack on the India Army’s patrol party, Times of India reported.

The attack left two Indian soldiers dead while one BAT member was killed in retaliatory action by Indian troops. The Indian army claimed that it had recovered the dead body of the BAT member from the Poonch LoC’s Gulpur sector on Friday. The body was handed over the local police, Indian army said as quoted by the Indian media.
“Arms, ammunition and other warlike stores including a special dagger and a headband with a camera, knife, one AK rifle, 3 magazines, 2 grenades besides dresses and bags were recovered,” Indian army claimed. “The data and details of the camera will be analysed,” Indian army official said.
They also claimed that another BAT member was also killed but his body was taken back by the other members of the BAT,” he said.
“A Border Action Team of five to seven heavily-armed men, under the cover of Pakistani firing, entered 600 meters inside the LoC in Gulpur forward area in Poonch sector around 2 pm on Thursday and launched an attack with several types of weapons,” the Indian army official claimed.
The BAT team targeted an area domination patrol of the Indian Army, triggering a gunfight, the official alleged.
According to Indian media, two Indian soldiers were killed, named Jadhav Sandip and Mane Savan Balku.
