LAHORE: Former Punjab Governor and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf’s central leader Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar has termed the increase in duty by Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) as “inflation bomb”.

He expressed these views, while talking to a delegation of party activists who called on him at his office, on Friday.

He said that all institutions have reached on the verge of collapse. Bad governance must be eradicated from roots otherwise inflation, corruption, and injustice will continue to damage the nation.

“PTI’s Chairman Imran Khan is the only credible, honest and visionary leader of the country. Strengthening the PTI is the mission of my life. Only Imran Khan can pull the country out of existing crises”, he added.

He further said that the FBR has increased duty on 144 items before Eid and enactment of the federal annual fiscal budget which is contrary to law. It will only escalate the flood of inflation before Eid and affect the lives of poor people.

“Corruption and absence of meritocracy have ruined the national institutions and reason of the destruction of institutionalism in Pakistan,” he concluded.
