KARACHI: Four police officials were martyred in a gun attack by unknown assailants in the metropolis’s SITE area on Friday evening.
An assistant sub-inspector was among those martyred in the attack, said SITE SP Asif Ahmad.
He added the policemen had stopped at a local eatery for Iftar when two assailants on a motorcycle, with their faces covered with helmets, opened fire on them and fled.
The martyred policemen were identified as ASI Mohammad Yousaf, Constables Raja Shabbir, Khalid and Asrar.
One of the deceased policemen was an ASI while the other three were constables. Police have found at least 26 shell casings of 9MM from the spot.
Sindh IG AD Khawaja has taken notice of the incident and has ordered the DIG West to submit a report.
