LAHORE: Expressing satisfaction over arrangements at Ramzan bazaars, the Cabinet Committee for Ramzan Package, on Friday, lauded the performance of provincial ministers, public representatives, deputy commissioners and officers concerned.

In the last meeting of the cabinet committee, that met daily, under the chairmanship of Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Malik Nadeem Kamran at the Civil Secretariat, it was stated that hard work and relentless efforts of deputy commissioners and other officers helped ensure best arrangements at Ramzan bazaars.

Lifting the ban on the sale of white flour bags, the committee also allowed flour mills to supply flour in the open market from tomorrow. The provincial minister directed the deputy commissioners that sale of green flour bags available at shops be ensured at fixed price and a stern action should be taken in case of overcharging.

He mentioned that high-quality commodities were provided at concessionary rates at 319 Ramzan bazaars set up across the province during the holy month. A historic package of subsidised flour was given for providing relief to masses and price control magistrates were deputed to monitor the prices.

The minister said that in view of an increase in sales ahead of Eid, supply of commodities, including fruits and vegetables, be enhanced to ensure an optimum supply of the products. He lauded the performance of the deputy commissioners for best arrangements in Ramzan bazaars and directed them to continue work with the same spirit.
