LAHORE: The administration office of the Accountant General’s Department in Old Anarkali caught fire the other day.
The fire erupted at around 9:30 am when a worker turned on an air conditioner of the office on the second floor and left the room.b Moments later, nearby people saw flames erupting from the room and called rescue teams. Rescue officials promptly reached the site to control the blaze.
The fire had engulfed the whole room and thick layers of smoke had spread through the building. People inside the building headed to the roof to avert the situation, while a few felt suffocated due to smoke.
Rescue teams were able to control the blaze after an hour. The administration office of AG department contained records of Punjab employees.
