BAHAWALPUR/LAHORE: Four women died and over a dozen injured in separate incidents after strong winds, followed by heavy rain, hit various cities in Punjab the other day.

Roofs and walls of several houses collapsed, while signboards were blown away in cities across Punjab on Sunday.

The pre-monsoon rain have been affecting Multan, Bahawalpur, Jhang, Lodhran, Vehari, Khanewal, Dera Ghazi Khan, Faisalabad, Lahore, Gojra, Bhakkar, Sargodha and Mianwali.

Met Office has predicted that intermittent rains will continue in the region for the next few days.

The torrential rain in Lahore also caused as many as 94 electricity feeders of the Lahore Electric Supply Company to trip which resulted in prolonged power cuts in several areas in and around the city.

As per official reports,  several feeders have been successfully brought back online since morning and work on several others is ongoing.
