Triumphant Pakistan Cricket team reaches home with trophy

Four players of the national cricket team arrived at Allama Iqbal International Airport in Lahore early Tuesday morning after winning the ICC Champions Trophy 2017.

The players, including Hassan Ali, Baber Azam, Fahim Ashraf and Ahmad Shahzad, were warmly welcomed at the airport by the provincial ministers and a large number of cricket lovers and fans of the players.

Punjab Ministers Mian Mujtaba Shujaa-ur-Rehman, Raza Ali Gilani, Jehangir Khanzad and Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan were present at the airport to accord a cordial welcome to the winning cricketers.

Foolproof security measures were taken to avert any untoward incident and heavy contingents of the police were deployed at the airport.

Meanwhile, team captain Sarfaraz Ahmed and Rumman Raees arrived at Karachi airport this morning.

They were warmly received by Governor Sindh Muhammad Zubair and Mayor Karachi Waseem Akhtar along with a large number of cricket enthusiasts.

Sarfaraz Ahmed was presented a traditional Sindhi ajrak and cap. He was later escorted with a heavy police protocol to his residence, where several hundred fans gathered to show their support to the victorious captain.

Speaking on the occasion, the Governor said Champions Trophy is a gift for the whole nation. He said top cricket players have emerged in the country due to the PSL.

Muhammad Zubair said all out efforts will be made to hold PSL matches on Pakistani soil in the future.
