RAWALPINDI: As many as 20 suspects have been taken into custody during joint operations across Punjab, according to Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The joint operations were conducted by Pakistan Rangers Punjab, Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD), police and intelligence agencies in surrounding areas of Kharian and Sarai Alamgir.

Illegal weapons and ammunition have also been recovered from the suspects’ possession.

The joint operations are a part of the nationwide military operation Radd-ul-Fasaad, which was launched on February 22 after a string of terrorist attacks gripped the country.

According to the Director-General of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) wing of the Pakistan Army, the operation aims to eliminate the residual and latent threat of terrorism, and ensuring the security of Pakistan’s borders.
