ISLAMABAD: The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has yet again issued a notice to its representative of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT), Irfan Mangi, a local media outlet reported on Monday.
The notice which had been issued by Deputy Chairman NAB Imitiaz Tajwar on May 31, asked Mangi to respond within the next 15 days.
The notice stated that Mangi had been granted the last opportunity to defend himself.
On June 17, Irfan Mangi had submitted a reply to the initial show-cause notice that had been issued by NAB.
In his response, the JIT member, requested NAB to keep the show-cause notice pending or withdraw it until the investigation team had completed its task.
Mangi further added that he is currently involved in discharging duties as a member of JIT. He stated that he has 14 years of investigative experience before joining NAB and also holds three gold medals over performance.
A copy of the reply was dispatched to JIT head Wajid Zia.
Earlier, Mangi, was issued a show-cause notice for ‘removal from service’ on April 25 by the NAB and surprisingly two days later, an official who was under notice facing removal from service was recommended for inclusion in the JIT on April 27.
