Pre-monsoon rain spell begins in most areas of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD: The pre-monsoon rain spell began yesterday in most areas of the country and will continue till Friday.

According to Pakistan Metrological Department, mainly hot and dry weather is expected in most parts of the country. However, rain along with dusty thunderstorm and gusty winds is expected at isolated places in Rawalpindi, Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, D.G. Khan, Multan, Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Hazara, D.I.Khan divisions, Islamabad and Kashmir. Light drizzle and thunderstorm are expected at few places along the Sindh coast.

The temperature in some of major cities recorded on Sunday were Islamabad and Lahore 40 °C, Karachi 45°C, Peshawar 38°C, Quetta 42°C, Gilgit 31°C, Murree 32°C, Muzaffarabad 34°C, Dadu 49°C, Nokkundi, Sibbi 48°C, Dalbandin 47°C, Jacobabad and Shaheed Benazirabad 45°C.
