Deputy Commissioner Kahsif Ali Tipu has directed the officers to ensure improved security and better sanitary conditions for the mourners of processions of Youm-e-Ali today (Saturday).
This he said while presiding over a meeting here at his office Friday. The meeting was attended by the SSP, officials of Shahbaz Rangers, the Ulema of various schools of thought, Municipal Corporation mayor, additional deputy commissioner-I Larkana, municipal commissioner and officers of various departments.
He directed the concerned authorities to keep vigilant eye on suspects so as to avoid any untoward incident on the martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (AS).
The DC also directed that security should be enhanced during processions and majalis in the wake of martyrdom day of Hazrat Ali (AS). He further said that paramedical staff including doctors, medicines and ambulances should be present at medical camps to give first aid to persons in need.
The Ulema present at the meeting called for proper security arrangements in the city for the occasion. The SSP told the meeting that strict security arrangements have been made in the district and a control room had been set up to keep a strict watch on the miscreants.
The municipal commissioner told the meeting that cleanliness, water supply and electricity arrangements were being made along the traditional routes of processions in the city.
