Renowned climber in Pakistan to climb K-2

ISLAMABAD: A promising team of mountaineers led by world renowned British-American mountaineer Vanessa O’Brian is on a mission to climb K-2.

In a press conference held at The Marriott Islamabad, O’Brian told media that her team of mountaineers is in Pakistan to climb K-2 this summer.

Vanessa O’Brian is a British American mountaineer, explorer, public speaker and a former business executive. She has trekked to Mount Everest base camp and reached the summits of a number of notable mountains including four of the world’s fourteen 8,000 meter peaks.

Talking to media, she expressed her gratitude towards the hospitality of Pakistan.

Addressing to a question on security concerns, she told Pakistan Today that she does not find security as a problem in Pakistan for explorers, especially mountaineers. She added that the security agencies are always in-touch with mountaineering teams in that part of northern Pakistan as it is a declared security zone.
