- PPP chief directs senator to share ‘credible’ evidence against Sharifs
Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto has summoned Senator Rehman Malik before his appearance in front of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) to discuss investigative reports of important cases including the Hudaibiya Paper Mills.
The PPP chief also directed his party’s lawmaker to provide ‘credible’ evidence of corruption against Sharif family before the investigators so that ‘accountability’ process could be materialised and the ‘real face’ of the rulers could be exposed before the people.
On the other hand, the PPP chairman said that situation can take an abrupt turn due to day-to-day ‘accountability’ process and he has directed his party workers to remain ready to face any situation in wake of this situation.
The Joint Investigation Team summoned Rehman Malik on June 23 along with record including inquiry reports of the cases. The JIT has issued summon in this regard and directed him to ensure his appearance before JIT in Hudabia Papers Mills and others cases.
Prior to this, the JIT has summoned Rehman on June 13 but he did not appear before it as he was abroad. On the other hand, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif has done detail consultation with his legal teams and has compiled all the relevant record including Hudaibiya Paper Mill since JIT summoned him on June 17.
A family member of the Sharif family said that CM Shehbaz received summons of JIT to appear on June 17, while he was directed to bring all relevant record with him. Shehbaz is due to appear before JIT on Saturday at 11am in respect to the summons.
