Through your exemplary newspaper, I would like to address the matter regarding the letter assignments in Karachi University.
I am a student of Karachi University and it gives me great displeasure to say that my department has given me an assignment to write and get published at least 5 letters in notable newspapers. I have already written at least 10 letters and only 2 of them have been published.
It is really exhausting. I have to sit for three hours in front of the computer to write a letter and when it is not published, it feels like I am wasting my time and energy on an uncertain thing.
I am sure many other students must be experiencing this and can relate to my situation. We already have examinations to worry about and such assignments add up to our frustration.
I am serious about my studies but if I don’t get respectable marks, then all the blame will go this assignment. Therefore I request the university professors to consider this matter as it is not in the hands of students to force newspapers to publish their letters.
