LAHORE/BAHAWALNAGAR: At least six people were reported dead in separate incidents following rain and thunderstorm in several cities in Punjab the other day, as per resecue sources.
Several cities in Punjab, including Lahore, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Gujranwala, Kasur, Bahawalnagar, Multan and Lodhran, received light and heavy rain on Saturday.
Four people died in Bahawalnagar, after thunderstorm hit the city in Southern Punjab.
Others received injuries when the roof of a house collapsed in Chauhang area. A woman died in a similar incident in Faisalabad.
Over 28 people were reported injured in different incidents in Multan and Lodhran.
The rains caused many feeders Lahore Electric Supply Company (Lesco ) to trip, resulting in suspension of power supply to several areas in the city.
The cities affected by subsequent outages included Lahore, Sheikhupura, Kasur and Nankana Sahib.
