Aisam, Daniel win Men’s Doubles Aegon ATP Challenger Trophy

LONDON: Aisamul Haq with his partner Marcus Daniel of New Zealand has won the Men’s Doubles Aegon ATP Challenger Tennis Trophy in Surbiton area of the UK.

They beat the duo of Philippine’s Treat Huey and American Denis Kudla in a convincing manner in straight sets with a score of 6, 3 and 7, 6.

Earlier, in the semi-final they outclassed an all English pair of Bryden Kleid and Joe Salisbury after a thrilling encounter with a score of 5,7; 6, 3; 10, 6 much to the disappointment of a large British crowd.

Before that, in the quarter final they beat the Indo-German pair of Jeevan Neduchezhiyan and Dustin Brown 6, 2 and 7, 6 and in pre-quarter, they beat the Tunisian Australian duo of Malek Jaziri and Mathew Ebden.

This was the first tournament of grass season in England.
