Sri Lanka’s bashing against triumphing India in yesterday’s Champions Trophy clash has made it very clear that there is no room for error for any the team’s in-group B to qualify for semifinals.

All the matches in this group has resulted in India, South Africa, Sri Lanka, and Pakistan having played two matches and emerged victorious in one match each so far.

The situation is that Sunday’s India and South Africa match and Monday s Sri Lanka and Pakistan match have been turned into virtual quarterfinals. Whichever team wins its next match will qualify for semifinals.

Earlier, Sri Lanka stupefied India in ICC Champions Trophy 2017 as they chased the target of 321 runs in the second last over to record their first win in the tournament.

Batting first, India scored 321 for the loss of six wickets in 50 overs.

Sri Lanka chased the target in a beguiling fashion to stun India in critical combat of Group B.
