SRINAGAR: A curfew has been imposed in Indian-occupied Kashmir following a protest call by Kashmiri leaders on Friday. Moreover, section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure has been imposed in different districts of Kashmir Valley including Anantnag, Shopian, Pulwama, Kulgam, Baramulla, Badgam, Ganderbal, Bandipora and Kupwara.

The protest leaders were protesting against the killing of a young man, identified as Adil Farooq Magrey, who was martyred during a clash between security officials and protesters on Tuesday.

In response, the authorities have also closed down all educational institutions across the Kashmir Valley to prevent more student protests. The examinations have also been postponed.
