PESHAWAR: Although the health and education sectors were the top priority of PTI-led Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government from day one in power, however, the five-year budget estimates indicate roads as being the biggest priority of the provincial government.
The Center for Governance and Public Accountability (CGPA) analysis revealed that in the five years of PTI-led government in the province, road sector was allocated 10.7 percent of the total development budget with an allocation of 86.1 billion rupees, while health sector got only 8.4 percent of the total developmental budget in the last five years with an allocation of 67.6 billion rupees.
Executive Director CGPA said that PTI has criticised Punjab Government over the incessant construction of roads and bridges when it is the top priority of its own government.
The director expressed dismay over the allocation in the health sector, adding that despite claiming imposition of emergency in the sector by the government, no significant allocation has been made.
