Provincial Minister for Schools Education Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan has said that revolutionary steps have been taken in social sector reforms under the leadership of Punjab chief minister. Punjab province has presented historical budget, he added.
He said this while giving briefing to media on educational reforms at 90-Shahra-e-Quaid-e-Azam. He said that we have to restore the respect of the teachers. School Education Department is going to promote Grade-9 teachers to Grade-14 whereas Grade-14 to Grade-16 and Grade-16 to Grade-17. Schools Education Secretary Dr Allah Bakhsh Malik done a great job for the up-gradation and betterment in pay scale of the teachers, he added.
Rana Mashhood Ahmad Khan said that Schools Education Department is going to send as many as 5,000 best performing teachers to the best institutions of the world for their capacity building. He said that 80 thousand teachers are being recruited on merit this year. Teachers are our asset and they are real change makers. We will get enroll all children by 2018. As many as 70 schools of Punjab proved their metal in the world under British Council’s Connecting Classroom Project. Missing facilities including clean drinking water, furniture, boundary walls, electricity are being provided all over Punjab. As many as 5000 early childhood education classrooms have been made functional in Punjab the number of which will be increased to 10,000 next year. School Education Department is going to establish a complaint cell for improving performance and addressing the complaints. Digital smart boards are being installed in the schools for the capacity building of students, he concluded.
