PFA cracks ‘a million rotten eggs’

The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) in a raid on a biscuit powder making factory in Manga Mandi area, confiscated more than one million rotten eggs on Thursday.

According to a PFA spokesman, the factory used to make powder for renowned biscuit factories from eggs. The PFA raided Alwaha egg processing unit and seized eggs worth Rs 15 million. The eggs were rotten to the extent that chicks have been hatched out from some of them.

Meanwhile, the PFA director general said that the factory was sealed few days ago however; it was operational illegally. He said people who were committing adulteration will be strictly punished soon. All the rotten eggs were discarded and the factory was re-sealed. Moreover, a case was also registered against the factory owner.
