IED explosion injures seven in Bajaur Agency

PESHAWAR: At least seven persons were injured in a bomb explosion in a far-flung village of Bajaur Agency bordering Afghanistan on Thursday afternoon.

The injured were shifted to the agency headquarter hospital in Khar, whereas the condition of the several injured was stated to be in danger. The injured include the common tribesmen of the area.

Officials in Khar informed that the explosion occurred in Village Dabar Keley in Tehsil Mammondas a result of an Improvise Explosive Device (IED) on a roadside, which was controlled with the help of a remote control.

Soon after the explosion, the security forces rushed to the site and started a search operation. There were no further details at the time of filing this story.

Tehsil Mamoond of Bajaur Agency is adjacent to Afghanistan border, where a large number of Pakistani militants were taking shelter. These militants associated with the banned Tehrik Taliban Pakistan are headed by Mullah Fazalullah attacking security forces, government loyal tribal elders, government installations and common civilians from time to time.
